Islamabad: Torrential monsoon rains have claimed the lives of 38 people across Pakistan, including fatalities in Balochistan. According to details, the recent spell of monsoon rains has led to several tragic incidents nationwide, with flash floods causing deaths in various regions.
As per the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), between June 26 and June 28, a total of 38 casualties were reported due to rain-related incidents.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded the highest number of fatalities with 19 deaths, followed by Punjab with 12, while Sindh and Balochistan reported 7 deaths collectively.
In addition, 63 people sustained injuries in rain-related accidents across the country.
Heavy rainfall is expected to continue in most parts of the country today.
The NDMA has issued a flood alert in anticipation of worsening conditions, particularly warning about cloudbursts and potential flash floods in Swat, Upper Dir, Kumrat Valley, Chitral, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Moreover, intense rainfall is forecasted in Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Bagh, and Kotli. Urban flooding is also likely in several cities across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh.

The NDMA has urged authorities and residents to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions as the monsoon system persists.
