QUETTA: As many as 257 people were killed and 492 were injured in 501 terror-related incidents in Balochistan during the first half of 2025, according to a report released by the Balochistan Home Department.
According to the Balochistan Home Department reports, Balochistan had witnessed sharp increase in the terror incidents in first six months of the current year. The report covering the period from January 1 to June 30, reveals a 45% increase in terrorism incidents and a 100% rise in the targeted killing of settlers compared to the same period last year.
Report further revealed that among the deceased were 133 security personnel, while 238 personnel were among the injured. The data paints a grim picture of the deteriorating law and order situation in Balochistan.
According to report, 14 attacks targeting non-local settlers, resulting in 52 deaths and 11 injuries, 81 incidents involving bombs, grenades, IEDs, landmines, and rocket fire, leading to 26 deaths and 112 injuries.
Similarly, 39 attacks on civilians, in which 11 people were killed and 29 injured, 2 attacks on trains, resulting in 29 fatalities, a polio worker was killed in a targeted assault and nine attacks on mobile phone towers left 2 people injured.
The report underscores the growing complexity and intensity of the threat landscape in Balochistan, especially with increased attacks on security forces, civilians, and public infrastructure.

These figures come amid a spate of high-profile attacks in recent months, including the killing of nine passengers abducted from a Quetta-to-Lahore bus, and a deadly school bus attack in Khuzdar that left five, including three schoolgirls, dead.
