71 Khwarij killed as infiltration attempt thwarted in North Waziristan: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army said on Monday that it killed at least 17 more khwarij in follow-up operations in North Waziristan near the Pak-Afghan border.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Security forces conducted cairred out follow up operations and thwarted a major infiltration attempt by a large group of terrorists along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan, killing 17 Khwarij, a term used by the Pakistan authorities for terrorists associated with banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

“During the conduct of the operation, seventeen more khawarij, who were operating on behest of their Indian masters, were hunted down and successfully neutralised,” ISPR said. Weapons, ammunition & explosives were also recovered from the killed Khwarij, the statement further read.

The number of Khwarij killed in three days in the anti-inflation operation has risen to seventy-one.

The Security Forces remain committed to secure the nation’s frontiers and thwarting attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Pakistan.

Yesterday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that 54 Khwarij were killed by security forces trying to infiltrate through the Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the press release of ISPR, the movement of a large group of Khwarij were detected by the security forces in the border area of North Waziristan, on the night 25/26 and 26/27 April 2025 and the security forces successfully thwarted their attempt to infiltrate, and all the 54 terrorists have been sent to hell.
