DG Khan admin bans night travel to Balochistan amid security threats

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Authorities in Dera Ghazi Khan have banned night traffic into Balochistan. The district administration enforced the new order from today. From now on, no public or private vehicles can cross into Balochistan after 5pm. Traffic will resume the next morning.

The ban applies to major border points at Sakhi Sarwar and Bawata. Deputy Commissioner and RTA Chairman Muhammad Usman Khalid issued the directive. He said protecting citizens’ lives and property is the top priority. He added that security measures are now stricter and more effective.

This move follows the recent killing of nine Punjab-based bus passengers in Balochistan. Authorities hope the new steps will prevent more attacks.

Officials have also issued new protocols for public transport. They will now record videos of drivers and passengers at bus terminals before departure. All buses must travel in protected convoys.

Each vehicle must also have CCTV cameras, GPS tracking, and emergency panic alarms. These tools will help authorities respond quickly to any emergency.
