PESHAWAR: The security forces conducted a series of high-tempo intelligence-based operations across multiple districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on March 6 and 7, resulting in the killing of 13 militants in five separate engagements, according to the ISPR.
The operations were part of an ongoing counterterrorism campaign aimed at dismantling militant networks operating in the province.
One of the major operations took place in the Bajaur district, where security forces targeted a suspected militant hideout.
During an intense exchange of fire, troops effectively engaged the militants, resulting in the killing of five individuals described by officials as militants involved in terrorist activities in the region.
In this regard, the two separate encounters in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan districts, security forces continued their operations against militant elements.
Simultaneously, two additional operations were conducted in the Khyber and South Waziristan districts. Security forces successfully neutralized five more militants during these engagements, further disrupting militant activity in the area.
The security forces reasserted their commitment to maintaining stability and ensuring the safety of citizens.
These ongoing efforts form part of a wider national counterterrorism strategy under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” which was approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.
The strategy aims to intensify coordination between security forces and law enforcement agencies to eliminate terrorism and strengthen national security.
