13 Khawarij repent and leave for Europe

KABUL: Thirteen individuals formerly associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have announced their renunciation of militancy and have left for Europe in search of a peaceful and prosperous future.

A video circulating on social media platform X shows the former militants expressing regret over their past involvement with the group.

In the video, one of the men stated that they had joined the TTP under the belief that they were supporting Islam and Sharia.

However, they were disillusioned when commanders instructed them to engage in extortion and acts of violence against civilians.

“We were used for brutality, including kidnapping and killing innocent people,” the man revealed.

“This cruelty and the realization that we had been misled became the main reasons for our departure.”

The group, identified as members of “Fitna-tul-Khawarij,” detailed their journey from Afghanistan to Turkey via Iran.

They emphasized their commitment to rebuilding their lives, aspiring to settle in the United Kingdom and earn a halal livelihood.

Another member recounted the emotional toll of seeing fellow fighters die and be abandoned by their own families, with no one willing to perform their funerals.

“We thought we were fighting in the path of Allah, but soon realized we were committing sins on the orders of our commanders,” one former militant said. “Now, we seek a life of peace, repentance, and honest work.”
