Security meeting held ahead of 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal processions

Quetta: An important meeting regarding security arrangements for 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal was held at the Balochistan Constabulary Headquarters, Badr Line, under the chairmanship of Additional IGP and Commandant Agha Muhammad Yousaf.

The session was attended by zonal commanders and other senior officers, where the current security situation was thoroughly reviewed.

The commandant instructed that no negligence will be tolerated during duty, and personnel must refrain from using mobile phones while ensuring the safety of their weapons at all times.

He further emphasized that there is a potential threat of sabotage during the celebrations of 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, and the force must remain on high alert to counter any untoward incident.

The meeting also decided on strict monitoring of personnel and ensuring the safety of foreign experts present in the city.

It is worth mentioning that

Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) is observed with immense religious zeal and devotion across Pakistan, particularly in Quetta and other major cities.

The occasion brings together large gatherings, including processions, conferences, and Milad events where thousands of people participate to express their love and reverence for the Holy Prophet (SAW).

Such gatherings, while spiritually significant, also attract the risk of mismanagement, overcrowding, and possible exploitation by anti-social or extremist elements.

Law enforcement agencies remain on high alert during these days because historically, religious congregations and processions have been targeted by disruptive elements aiming to spread unrest and fear.

In cities like Quetta, where the security situation has been sensitive due to past incidents of terrorism and sectarian violence, preventive measures become even more critical.

The deployment of additional personnel, surveillance through CCTV cameras, strict monitoring of entry and exit routes, and ensuring the safety of both local participants and foreign dignitaries are part of a comprehensive strategy to prevent any untoward incident.

These measures not only aim to safeguard lives and property but also to provide a sense of security to citizens so they can observe the sacred occasion with peace and dignity.
