The Balochistan government has intensified action against employees of the provincial Health Department who remain absent from duty or fail to perform their official responsibilities.
The action is being carried out on the directives of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, who has instructed authorities to take strict and indiscriminate measures against negligence in public service.
The salaries of around 11,000 absentee employees have been deducted, with the total amount of deductions reportedly reaching Rs290 million.
The government has also taken disciplinary action against employees found guilty of persistent absenteeism and negligence.
As part of the ongoing crackdown, more than 100 employees have reportedly been dismissed from service following action against those found absent from their assigned duties.
The measures reflect the provincial government’s stated policy of holding public-sector employees accountable for their attendance and performance, particularly in the health sector, where staff availability can directly affect the delivery of essential services.
In addition to the employees already dismissed or facing salary deductions, disciplinary proceedings against 402 more employees have reportedly been completed.
The action is aimed at strengthening administrative discipline and ensuring that government employees fulfil the responsibilities assigned to them.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has maintained that negligence in public service cannot be tolerated, particularly in departments responsible for providing essential services to citizens.
The latest measures indicate a tougher approach toward absenteeism and poor performance within the provincial administration. The government has emphasized that employees receiving public funds must remain available to perform their official duties.
The crackdown comes as the Balochistan government seeks to improve the functioning of public-sector institutions and strengthen healthcare delivery across the province.
