KHAIRPUR: At least 11 people were killed in a horrific collision between a passenger coach and a trailer carrying a heavy concrete girder near Tando Masti in Khairpur district on the National Highway, officials said.
Rescue authorities confirmed that nine passengers, the driver, and the conductor died in the crash. The coach was traveling from Punjab to Karachi when it collided with the trailer.
The Edhi Foundation said rescuers shifted the bodies to Khairpur Civil Hospital. Medical teams treated around 10 injured passengers at nearby facilities.
Following the incident, the Inspector General of Sindh Police directed the Senior Superintendent of Police in Khairpur to reach the site immediately and supervise rescue efforts. The police chief also ordered authorities to speed up relief operations in surrounding areas and keep routes clear to ensure swift transfer of the injured to hospitals.
In a separate tragedy on Friday last, at least 14 people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the M-9 Motorway near Kathore.

Rescue officials said an oil tanker, a bus, and several other vehicles collided. The impact threw some passengers off a bridge. Women and children were among the dead. Several others sustained injuries and received emergency medical care.
