KARACHI: At least 10 people were killed as the intermittent heavy rain continues in Karachi since Tuesday morning.
According to report, the major roads of Karachi including Shara-e-Faisal, University Road, II Chandrigar Road were submerged, causing traffic jams, people going to their destinations were stuck, and vehicles and buses were overturned.
Water entered houses in various areas including Surjani Town, Garden, Shadman Town, Sakhi Hassan, and several shops were submerged on the food street of North Karachi’s Nagan Chowrangi.
According to the Meteorological Department Intermittent, the rainfall in Karachi today and tomorrow will be more than Tuesday.
Earlier, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah announced a public holiday in Karachi on Wednesday (today).
An emergency meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah on the situation in Karachi, in which provincial ministers Sharjeel Memon, Nasir Shah, Saeed Ghani and others participated.

The briefing said that at present, important highways have been cleared to some extent. The Chief Minister Sindh announced a public holiday today and said that there is a possibility of more rain on Wednesday. The public holiday has been declared so that the public does not suffer.
