ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather alert. Widespread rain, wind, and thundershowers are expected across the country on Wednesday. Heavy to very heavy rain may cause flash floods, urban flooding, and landslides in several areas.
Rain, wind, and thunderstorms will likely hit Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and northeast Balochistan. Southern regions will stay hot and humid.
The Met Office warns of hazardous weather tonight and throughout Wednesday. Heavy rainfall could cause flash floods in local streams and nullahs in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Buner, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Dera Ghazi Khan, northeast Punjab, and Kashmir.
Urban flooding may hit low-lying areas in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Okara, Nowshera, and Peshawar. Landslides may block roads in hilly areas of KP, Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Strong winds and lightning could damage rooftops, walls of kacha houses, electric poles, billboards, vehicles, and solar panels.
In Islamabad, partly cloudy weather with rain and possible heavyfalls is likely.
In KP, rain and windstorms may affect Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Shangla, Malakand, Peshawar, Nowshera, Swabi, Bajaur, Mardan, Kurram, Khyber, Orakzai, Hangu, Kohat, Bannu, Karak, DI Khan, and Waziristan. Upper districts may receive heavy rain.
In Punjab, rain and wind may hit Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Chakwal, Attock, Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, and Shakargarh.
Isolated showers may occur in Kasur, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Multan, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Layyah, Bhakkar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Kot Addu, and Taunsa Sharif.
In Sindh, weather will stay hot and humid. Coastal areas may receive light rain or drizzle.
In Balochistan, most areas will see hot and humid conditions. Rain and windstorms may affect Barkhan, Kohlu, Musakhel, Loralai, Zhob, Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbela, and nearby regions.
In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, partly cloudy weather with rain and possible heavyfalls is likely.
During the last 24 hours, rain and windstorms hit Islamabad, upper Punjab, Kashmir, upper KP, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kalat. Other areas remained hot and humid.

Rawalpindi: Katcheri (85), Gawalmandi (55), Chaklala (46), Shamsabad/Pirwadhai (32), New Kattarian (27).
Narowal: 69 mm, Murree: 42 mm, Jhelum: 40 mm, Mangla: 31 mm, Faisalabad: 12 mm.
Sialkot City: 3 mm, Airport: 2 mm, Gujrat: 1 mm.
Kashmir: Muzaffarabad Airport (79), City (71), Kotli (64), Garhi Dupatta (38), Rawalakot (13).
KP: Balakot (47), Takht Bhai (37), Saidu Sharif (34), Kakul (28), Malam Jabba (18), Dir Lower (19), Upper (4), Pattan (2).

Gilgit: 1 mm.
Nokkundi recorded the highest temperature at 46°C, followed by Dalbandin at 45°C and Dadu at 44°C.
Authorities have urged people to remain alert. Avoid unnecessary travel in vulnerable areas. Emergency services remain on high alert. Citizens should follow official safety instructions.
