Heartfelt words of Shahmeer Shaheed’s father, Aziz Baloch

ISLAMABAD: Pro-Pakistan Baloch leader Sardar Aziz Baloch stated in an interview with renowned defense analyst and anchor Abdullah Khan that his ideological conflict with certain Baloch groups stems from fundamental differences in belief and national identity.

He emphasized that his family, the Bizenjo tribe, settled in Balochistan in 1798.

He further revealed that Sardar Javed Mengal, head of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and brother of Sardar Akhtar Mengal, is his cousin.

Their grandparents were siblings, yet ideological lines have divided the family.

Aziz Baloch explained that his disagreement with some family members is based on their push for an “independent Balochistan,” whereas he firmly stands with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, a state founded on the Kalima Tayyiba.

He said he had tried to make them understand that an independent Balochistan would not be viable on its own, but they continue to repeat tales glorifying figures like Akbar Bugti.

Refuting such narratives, he recalled how Akbar Bugti was once considered a symbol of dictatorship, alongside Bhutto and General Tikka Khan. “There was a time when people chanted slogans against them as icons of authoritarianism. Now they call him a martyr. How did he suddenly become one?” Aziz questioned.

He added that whenever he speaks out against such myths, he’s labeled a “Pakistani agent,” to which he responds by calling the separatists “agents of foreign non-Muslim powers” and enemies of Islam and Pakistan.

When asked about his direct involvement in fighting against enemies of the state and Indian agents, Aziz Baloch proudly said that he and his companions have always raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and practically joined several counter-terrorism operations with security forces starting in 2015.

He shared that both he and his son were injured in these operations, while one of his sons was martyred.

That son played a key role in helping capture Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav. “When my son was killed, India itself claimed responsibility, calling him their biggest enemy.

Some people questioned why no organization claimed responsibility. I told them—when the father (India) has accepted killing him, what does it matter if the illegitimate children (proxy agents) do or don’t?”

Aziz Baloch recalled confronting the FC Commandant after his son’s martyrdom, frustrated over the lack of immediate action.

He was told to wait patiently, and within days, his son’s killer was eliminated.

“That moment assured me we are not alone; the Pakistan Army stands with us, just as we stand with them,” he said.

However, he expressed concern that local governments often do not cooperate effectively with the security forces.

He concluded by saying, “We have never taken a single rupee or bullet from our armed forces for our fight against terrorism.

Everything we’ve done has been out of love for our land, our soil, and our country. Pakistan is our homeland—we have always said it, we say it now, and we will continue to say it. If this country survives, we survive. If it doesn’t, neither will we.”
