QUETTA: Aimal Wali Khan, a Senator from Balochistan and the leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), is facing intense criticism on social media for a tweet he posted after India’s decisive victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup.
In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Senator Khan criticized the management of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), calling for it to be “depoliticised and demilitarised” and made independent. He ended his message by congratulating the Indian team, writing, “Anyhow Jai Hind. You played tremendous cricket.”

The use of the Hindi phrase “Jai Hind,” which translates to “Long Live India,” sparked immediate and sharp backlash from Pakistani social media users.
Many users accused the ANP leader of being unpatriotic. One user, Khan Afsar, questioned the people who elected him as Senator, noting that he lives in Pakistan but says “Jai Hind.”

Other comments called him a “hypocrite” with “hatred in your hearts for Pakistan.” Another user pointed out that the Indian team had refused to shake hands with the Pakistani players, making his praise seem misplaced.<
They refused to shake hands with your players. Here you are praising India. 🤦♂️
