QUETTA: Balochistan’s newly launched Youth Policy has been hailed as a landmark step toward empowering the province’s young generation, providing them with a clear path to development, prosperity, and civic engagement.
The policy was praised during a special event held at the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), organized by the Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF).
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chancellor of BUITEMS, Professor Dr. Khalid Hafeez, called the Balochistan Youth Policy a “milestone initiative” for guiding the province’s youth toward successful futures. “Setting direction for our youth is a joint responsibility of the government and academic institutions,” he said. “This policy will serve as a practical roadmap for social and economic empowerment, and will strengthen the relationship between youth and the state.”
Dr. Hafeez praised the role of Nawabzada Jamal Raisani, a member of the National Assembly, for his pivotal contribution in presenting the policy. “By introducing this youth policy in the National Assembly, Jamal Raisani has not only given Balochistan’s youth a political voice but also enhanced their value and potential on the national stage. Its benefits will soon be seen in the form of greater economic opportunities and social recovery,” he noted.
The event was held in honor of the YPF delegation’s visit to BUITEMS, led by Chairperson Ms. Nosheen Iftikhar and General Secretary Nawabzada Jamal Raisani. Other members of the National Assembly present included Muhammad Saadullah, Muhammad Muqaddad Ali Khan, Raja Osama Sarwar, Ms. Akhtar Bibi, Ms. Shaista Khan, Muhammad Usman Badini, and Raja Muhammad Ali.
Dr. Hafeez thanked the visiting lawmakers and noted that their presence among students would encourage greater youth participation in policy dialogue and national discourse. “Active involvement of youth in policymaking will help close the gap between the younger generation and the government,” he emphasized.
He also directed BUITEMS faculty and administration to launch an awareness campaign and hold dedicated sessions on the Youth Policy, ensuring that students understand the policy’s framework and how it will be implemented.
