DALBANDIN: Governor of Balochistan, Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, has emphasized that dialogue is the only and most effective solution to resolve the province’s issues, with the aim to ensure the peaceful and develop Balochistan.
While addressing the participants of the jirga in Dalbandin on Wednesday, Governor Mandokhail said that no matter how tense or discouraging the situation becomes, the door to dialogue must always remain open. He appreciated the efforts of organizing the grand held in Rakhshan Division, adding the such will yield positive outcomes in achieving lasting peace, economic stability, and merit-based governance in Balochistan.
He said that jirgas are a time-honored national tradition used to confront internal and external challenges through collective wisdom. Governor highlighted that holding jirgas at the divisional level enables authorities to gain firsthand insight into ground realities and public concerns.
Governor Mandokhail praised former Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo for securing a 25% profit share from the Reko Diq project for Balochistan, stating that the initiative would bring prosperity to the entire region.
He warned that ignoring genuine public opinion and collective problems could lead to further socio-political instability. He said that poverty, inflation, and unemployment are pushing Balochistan’s youth into difficult circumstances, and that serious decisions are urgently needed to address these complex challenges.
Governor also reaffirmed his belief in the cultural strength of Baloch and Pashtun traditions, saying that lasting solutions can still be found through traditional community mechanisms like jirgas and marakas.

He concluded by saying that constructive public input from the jirga would be compiled into a joint action plan, serving as a roadmap for peace, development, and prosperity in Balochistan.
The jirga was attended by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Commander 12 Corps Lt. Gen. Rahat Naseem Ahmad Khan, provincial ministers, senior civil and military officials, regional elders, women, students, and people from various walks of life. The event began with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Martyrs’ Monument and special prayers.
