Islamic ruling Emerges on ongoing Guerrilla Warfare in Balochistan and KP

ISLAMABAD: An important Islamic legal perspective has emerged regarding the ongoing guerrilla warfare in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Mufti Abdul Rahim, addressing the issue, has declared the state’s countermeasures as legitimate under Shariah law.

He explained that guerrilla warfare involves sudden and secretive attacks where assailants strike and vanish quickly to provoke retaliatory actions against local populations.

According to him, it is permissible under Islamic principles to arrest individuals based on suspicion in such circumstances.

Mufti Abdul Rahim stated that even if the state arrests a large number of suspects, Shariah permits it, as the aim of guerrilla warfare is to harm locals and create resentment against the state.

In cases like mosque attacks or suicide bombings, a strong state response becomes necessary.

He further said that if an innocent person is unintentionally harmed during military action, the army must pay blood compensation, but it will not be considered sinful.

Supporting terrorists on social media is also a serious offense, and facilitators are equally responsible as the attackers themselves.

Mufti Abdul Rahim urged citizens to avoid involvement in conflict and instead promote peace, stating that the planning behind guerrilla warfare is meant to incite locals, but state actions remain within the bounds of Islamic law.
